AVID Objectives
To provide academic instruction and other support
to students to prepare them for eligibility to four-year colleges
and universities, particularly the University of California,
California State University, and Private four-year college
systems
To give students college-level entry skills
To increase the "coping skills" of AVID
students
To motivate AVID students to seek a college
education
To increase the AVID student's level of career
awareness
To make the AVID student a participating member
of the school and community cultures

Students in the middle with academic potential

...have a 2.0-3.5 grade point average
...have satisfactory school citizenship

...are willing to commit themselves to a minimum
